First, Interbank FX is changing to 5 decimal place pricing.  Since us, the authors of the EA, are using Interbank FX, we needed to get this worked out.

As of right now, our newest version of the EA (9.04b) which is in beta works with both 4 and 5 place pricing.

Now onto the other issue – hedging.  A new ruling came down the disallows brokers from allowing the use of hedging.  Well, our EA uses a slight form of hedging.  We don’t use hedging in the traditional sense of the word, but some of how we place orders may be considered hedging.  Therefore, we needed to make additional changes for this.

So, we are ready for all the new changes coming soon to your broker.  Stay tuned.

For fun, I also run our competitors EA…you know, the biggie out there.

It had been doing OK on my demo account, so I thought, what the heck…I’ll let it run on a live account – I don’t mind making more money, so I’ll run ours and theirs so I could truly compare apples to apples.

OMG – it was going fairly well…at first.  I had several good days.  In fact, it was about 1 week of good returns, in the neighborhood of about 1-2% per day.  Combined with FX-DSS Maximizer, I was making almost 4% per day.  Hey cool, right?

Cool until it had a bad day.  You see, FX-DSS Maximizer is ALL about equity protection.  However, on just 2 losing orders, that other, turbo-charged EA, lost over 30% of my account.  It wiped all the gains and profit from the previous week and a whole lot more.  To get an idea of just how scary this can be, you can see an entry on their own site with over $8,000 loss on one trade…ONE TRADE.  That occurred today, 3/24/09.  Don’t believe me?  Go check it out.  This is the type of thing that just happened to me.  That one trade effectively wiped out the gains and profits from 2.5 months of trading.  OMG!!!

The only bright spot in the entire day…FX-DSS Maximizer continues to make money, day after day.  Sure, we’ve had some losing orders too, but NEVER that much of your account all at once.  Also, while we have a losing order here and there, we’re also having winning orders at the same time to help offset things.

Please, please, please, do yourself the favor of being very careful with your money.  Be sure the turbo-charged EA doesn’t turbo-thrust your equity into the ground.

Over 3% on several days over the past week with approximately 10% for the past week.

While these returns are slightly higher than normal (normal returns are between 1% and 2% per day), this shows us that the last set of changes we made (V9.03B) are paying off big time.

Today so far = +1.2%
Last Thursday and Friday Combined = +2.8% with Thursday having approximately 2% of the gain.
Last Wed = +0.4%

As you can see, we continue to have great results and, in most cases, the results are even better now than they were in the past.
